Backstory

We have been on a joint artistic journey for as long as we’ve known each other—over 15 years. And although our styles and media differ, we share a deep commitment to art and its power to affect human lives, as well as to the Waukesha art scene.

In 2012 & 2013, both of us were selected for Waukesha’s GuitarTown project, honoring inventor and musician Les Paul. And in 2021, while studying art at UW Waukesha, Lakota was chosen as Featured Artist for the Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County, illustrating their Women of Distinction.

In 2021, Cassondra received mentorship through the Waukesha Art Crawl & West End Artists in order to organize a citywide Yarn Burst. She has since hosted many community events in the spirit of that mentorship, leading up to her work at the Almont Gallery.

We both paint with emotion—attempting to imbue our pieces with joy and wonder and to prompt those who interact with them to ask a singular question: How can we help to make the world kinder?
