I enjoy finding the beauty in the broken and discarded and drawing out that beauty for others to see. I find more inspiration in “junk” than clean new materials.

Backstory
From early childhood, I have been fascinated with creating art and making creative use of discarded things. My early days were about drawing and painting, then I moved into photography, modeling miniatures, and woodcarving, a craft dear to me that connects me to the father I lost as a teen. In recent years, I joined the welding trade and started applying my professional skills to my art and creative process.
These days, I create art primarily with scrap metal, reclaimed and natural wood, and other found objects. My inspiration comes from bringing new life to the discarded and observing the beauty of decay in both natural and man-made materials.
Story drives my imagination. My father was a glib-tongued story teller, and my mother read the works of Roald Dahl and Laura Ingalls Wilder aloud to me. Today, I love to read and write. In my representational art, I try to bring that sense of story and character to the figures and animals represented in my work.
