Philosophy
My work explores three-dimensional interactions of geometric and linear elements using a mixed-media palette. My goal is to arrange these elements into visually interesting patterns. Perceiving patterns in the midst of complexity is where the beauty lies.

Backstory
Since the age of four, I have been a student of science. As an undergraduate, I took a drawing and composition course to hone my ability to draw biological samples as seen through a microscope. From then to now, my training in the arts has largely been “self-taught.” Although I have had little in the way of formal artistic training, my training in the sciences has served my artistic eye and is where I obtain inspiration.
I have been producing different forms of art for more than 40 years. Initially, my works were created primarily for personal enjoyment and for family and friends. For the last 20+ years, however, I have shown my work in the public arena, both in galleries and art shows, in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Currently, my work explores the interaction of lines and other geometric forms in a two-inch relief, 3-D setting.
